Daily Photo Tour - Follow Your Dreams

It's not too often you find a friend (or anyone for that matter) who shares the same appreciation of Disneyland that you might have. Lets face it, we are obsessive, crazy, Mickey Mouse driven, magical people. Being in the park with us sometimes means racing to every ride in a marathon-like-fashion only to be able to post on Facebook & Twitter, "7 rides in 1-hour at Dland." Or the exact opposite, merely strolling along through Main Street, taking in the atmosphere, and soaking up that "Disney feeling." I will admit, we are a seriously interesting bunch. I was asked recently by a friend, someone I've found who shares the same attraction to the park as I do, "Why Disney?" I replied, "......Because besides God, Disney is the only thing that has made me feel something. You can feel it when you walk in the park. I used to call it 'atmosphere' but its more than that. It's all the inspiration from Walt Disney that still lingers in the park, and even more the evidence of those people who have kept Walt Disney's dream alive all these years. It's the mere fact that Walt Disney followed his dream, and the sheer magnitude of people who dream because of him. It is a testament to the human condition, that is, to follow your heart, regardless of what is in the way. Because as Christians, who is at the center of our heart? Jesus. And I believe we should always follow that." Go ahead. Follow your dream. You'll be amazed what happens.

I love what you wrote under the Castle picture. My daughter and I are the exact same way. People ask us the same thing..."why disney". It is hard to explain to a non-disney person. it is a feeling either you have or your don't. Thanks for explaining it so well

I'm glad that it was well recieved. Sometimes it's hard to know if people understand the thoughts that are so jumbled up in my mind. :)

I have to say, it is extremely hard to find someone who loves Disney just as much as we do. To most people, it's just a place for kids and for throwing away money. But to us, it's a place where you can get away from everyday life.

So often our commitment to Christ is questioned because of our affinity to and with Disneyland. There is joy in the experiences found within the park- and a an opportunity to let the joy of Christ shine through! It is great to see another share that sentiment!

It's cool to see that you guys are Believers. I haven't met any other Christians that are Disney lovers like we are. It's encouraging!

Wow, this is very insightful. My DH and I are Christians who love Disney too. When ppl say they 'grew up at DL' we sometimes laugh bc they are 25 yrs old. Hello, you can only say you grew up at DL if you're over 40. :) We love doing the marathon ride thing and the stroll through the park ppl watching thing and the eat DL food thing. :) Your pictures are stunning. I look forward to checking back often. I'm surprising my DH with a stay at Grand Californian at the end of the month. Wish I could take pictures like you.

God is so good. Word for word, I understand exactly what you mean. Reading this, I had tears running down my face because I asked my friend today, not 5 hours ago..."I dont think anyone will really understand why I feel this way about Disney but Im ok with that" When you say, besides God, its the only thing that has made me feel something, I get that. I too am a christian and love our Lord more then I could ever put in words and I am so blessed by your words. When I clicked on your link from Twitter of all places I had no clue there would be this little nugget of blessing for me tonight. I love how He can speak right when we need it. =) Your photography is beautiful and your site is greatly appreciated so thank you!

Tristyn,
Reading your words definitely moved me. I had never imagined that mine would have such an impact. I am very glad that can relate so much to how the park makes all of us feel. Very excited to hear you enjoy the pictures as well. The three of us work very diligently every day, every week. Thank you so much for your kind words. Hope to hear from you again.
