Daily Photo Tour - The Warm Glow Beneath Winter's Castle
The front of Sleeping Beauty Castle gets most of the love most of the time and Christmas is no exception. I'm not really sure why either, because the backside is beautifully adorned in Christmas splendor too. As I stood, however, trying to take this picture, countless flashes went off from folks taking pictures of the opposite side. I like to think of those moments as a duel and see who can wait it out longer to get a shot. Of course, that's probably just me being a little crazy. Nevertheless, I usually outlast my competition. I think my favorite thing about this perspective is the contrast you get between the icy top of the castle and the warm glow beneath it. It lends a welcoming feeling to the fact that Winter is just around the corner.

This is an awesome picture! You're so right about the contrast. Although the front of the castle is stunning, this side looks so warm and welcoming. I enjoy your views of the "not so obvious". Thanks!
I just got back from an amazing trip to Disneyland, and noticed some places that would be awesome if you guys took some pictures there! Between the carnation plaza and the left side of the castle, on a night with not much wind, the reflection of the lit-up winter castle in the water is so beautiful! I watched the lighting of the castle at the far left side of the castle, at the entrance to fantasyland; you can see a beautiful view of the castle I have never seen before! Thank you for sharing all of your amazing pictures with us!
I love this side of The Castle (yes. Capitalized. heh) and have stood here many times wondering if I was the only person alive who loved taking photos of this slightly shy side. I adore your version. You win.
This side of the castle is just as magical as the other side. I love this view because I think it often gets overlooked. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Amazing how perfectly centered the tree is when looking through the entry way of the castle. Fantastic shot!
Oh, I love this one <3
I love everything about this! I love seeing the tree through the castle walkway. I do love the back of the castle. It's just as beautiful as the front in its own way. Thanks for taking this!
