Behind the Shot - California Gold

Welcome to our first episode in a new series we are starting called "Behind the Shot". Our goal with these videos is to share a behind the scenes look at how we capture the images we post here and what's going through our minds during the process. This Behind the Shot features Matt photographing one of his favorite spots in Disney California Adventure. We hope you enjoy this deeper look into what makes a tour guide tick.

Clouds, colors, textures...just perfect shot. Definitely brings me back to trips in the Sierra's. Probably my favorite in all the resort. Thank you.

Meant favorite area in all the resort. Gotta love the forest of trees that's grown there, the sound of flowing water all around, all the varying textures in the land, and how spot on they go that high Sierra's look. Like I said, everytime I'm in this land, I'm right back to summer trips to the Eastern Sierra's and Yosemite and your pictures of this area are just as good as being there. Thank you!

Very cool video! Great to see exactly what goes into making the picture. From what you guys have written in the past, I knew HDR was the combination of multiple pictures, but I didn't realize it was standard, underexposed and overexposed, so this was definitely something new to learn. These videos are pretty great as well! I liked seeing where your camera was set up, with the tripod leg between the railings. It's fun to try and guess where your camera was set up after seeing all your pictures. Just like with Kevin's previous Mermaid picture, I couldn't figure it out, so I had to ask! Haha. Keep up the great work!
