Daily Photo Tour - The Beginning of a Story
This is the model for the new "Storytellers" statue that will be placed in DCA for the opening of Buena Vista Street. It represents the start of Walt's story as he arrived in California. It serves as a reminder of where he began and how far he traveled in pursuit of his dream. I think beginnings are all too often overlooked. We see the success someone has acquired, but fail to realize the handwork, sweat and tears that went into making their dream a reality. Walt is the perfect example of that. In spite of facing financial ruin and creative infringement, he didn't give up. That to me is even more important than the success that followed. To have that much passion and tenacity for life is to truly live.

I can't wait to see this statue. When will Buena Vista St. open? What a great companion to Walt and MIckey's "Partners" at the Hub. In this new statue, it's as if Walt is saying "C'mon Mickey....we've got lot's of work to do" and the at the Hub, he's saying "Oh...just look at the magic we've created." Thanks for sharing this Michaela... I love it!
Thank you Terry! I can't wait either, it's going to be amazing! I believe it's supposed to open mid June.
Thanks for the picture of this wonderful model. I hope one day Disneyland might sell a replica of the statue in miniature. I appreciate how the three of you alway include such amazing encouragement regarding the pursuit of one's dreams! Keep up the great work!!!
