Daily Photo Tour - Stow Yer Weapons

There's no shortage of weapons at the Pirates' Lair on Tom Sawyer's Island. Lucky for the adults, they all have to be stowed. This may not seem like a very important rule, but when the fast-paced adventures through tunnels and caves get underway, you needn't worry about rounding a corner to encounter a nefarious child wielding a musket or a cutlass. Then again, maybe it's the children who should be concerned about encountering nefarious, weapon-yielding adults.

Daily Photo Tour - A Scoundrel's Fate

There are plenty of tunnels and caves just waiting to be discovered on Tom Sawyer Island. Some may argue that a few of the caves are just for kids, but you know what I say? Ha, nonsense! You can find me squeezing through as many of those caves as possible. My excuse? Where else can you do that and get away with it? As we were busy about our tomfoolery, we came upon this imprisoned pirate and this warning: "Behold the fate of any thieving' scoundrel who dares to steal a shipmate's plunder". It seemed a picture worthy punishment.

Daily Photo Tour - The Adventures of Tom Sawyer Island

Wandering around Tom Sawyer Island, or the Pirates' Lair if you prefer, is always an adventure. It's one of the areas in Disneyland that allows you to explore, with only your imagination to guide you... and perhaps the banks of the Rivers of America. The story is yours to create. My adventures always seem to lead me to this water wheel on the front side of the island, so it seemed about time to feature it in a post. Where will your next adventure lead you?

Daily Photo Tour - Pirate Crossing

Sometimes you just have to be a kid. And the best place to do that is at Disneyland. These bridges are made for jumping and swinging. And also for making your friends angry when they are trying to take a picture! It's fun to get lost in Pirates Lair. I actually find it entertaining to watch grown adults try and walk through the tiny caverns that can be found here. So don't grow up! Go be a kid again! Jump on some bridges!
