Daily Photo Tour -The Waking Beauty

Spending the night in Disneyland for the One More Day event was very much a dream come true. It was one night spent at the Park without that feeling of having to leave. Even better than that was seeing the sun come up in a place where magic is made for people, by people. Walt said that it takes people to make the magic happen. That's truer I think than any of us realize. This special time in Disneyland, when the sun wakes Sleeping Beauty Castle, is a time typically reserved for those very special people who make Disneyland magical. Watching night turn to day. Seeing the sun pour its golden light across Disneyland the way milk falls across cereal before filling a bowl. It was a wonderful, humbling experience to share in. Next time you're at the Park, give a Cast Member a high five and tell them how awesome they are.

great picture! it's interesting to see the castle this way, with the light gently hitting it on the right hand side as opposed to how we can normally see it during sunset where the light hits it on the left (like in your other photo "when the castle glistens"). no matter how many times i see the castle, there's always a new perspective that makes it look like i'm seeing it for the first time.

being at one more disney day as the sun rose was definitely an experience. by the time we got out of haunted mansion at around 6am, we were able to walk out of the park and passed by a bunch of CMs that looked like they were cleaning. and like you said in your post, that time of day it usually reserved for CMs who make the park magical, the third shift CMs that spend all night getting the park ready for the visitors. i think a lot of people either forget or just ignore that fact, so i'm glad that you point that out. i definitely try to make sure i let CMs know how appreciated they are.

@Darby. They've stated in they can't sell them because the things they take pictures of are owned by Disney.

This is beautiful. That was really the main reason I wanted to go to the park that day, but school didn't allow it. It's okay though, I'm sure I'll have other opportunities to get the sunrise effect at the park later. Great shot, and I hope more people were as thoughtful as you guys were to the Cast Members! I know how hard it is to work late-night shifts when everyone else is having fun. Haha
