Daily Photo Tour - Headed for Tomorrow
While shooting at Disneyland, I always try to find unusual angles to take pictures. They're usually the ones where you wind up crouching over or, in my case, halfway in some sort of bush or fence. For some reason they end up being the ones I find most interesting, which is very convenient because there is little I love more than wrestling bushes. Unfortunately, this has resulted in creating some sort of a name for myself with Matthew and Kevin who usually find me hovering over bushes creepin' on something. I can't seem to do it without some comment being made, which I don't understand. There is absolutely nothing wrong with someone hiding in a bush with a camera.

Daily Photo Tour - The Monorail Races Through Fantasyland
As I understand it, there used to be motorboats in this pond at Fantasia Gardens in Fantasyland. They were before my time so I never had the opportunity to ride in them. That doesn't stop me from trying to imagine what it would have been like when I'm there. As I stood there taking in this view and all of its tranquility, I knew I wanted to try and capture it. I set up the tripod, set my exposure, set my timer and off my camera went, clicking through three frames. A few seconds into the third shot, I heard the Monorail coming. "Dangit, I'm gonna have to take this again", I said. Fortunately for me, Michaela had the sense to say, "Why don't you just wait and see what you get? It might be really cool." I find that things work out well when I take her advice. Thank goodness for my brilliant wife, who deserves credit for what I consider a
happy accident with this picture. It wasn't what I had set out to get but turned into something I love. When you stand here, the Monorail makes its way through with surprising frequency. I always enjoy when it does because it's this beautiful, futuristic vehicle that just shines amidst the natural beauty of Fantasia Gardens and the magic of Fantasyland.
*Update* Apparently the motorboats were around until the early '90s, so... not before my time. However, I don't recall ever having gone on them. Some great information about them can be found over at Daveland -

Daily Photo Tour - Monorail at the Tomorrowland Station
The Monorail is one of the coolest looking things at the Disneyland Resort. I always imagine it should travel much faster like a bullet train, with its sleek, aerodynamic curves. I'm certainly not complaining, however. I would never want to rush the many unique views you get of the Disneyland Resort while riding the Monorail. A lot of times I wish it would go slower so I could spend more time enjoying its perspective. Either that or I wish someone would let me honk the horn. No request is too extreme, right?

Daily Photo Tour - Tomorrowland Transports
It's nice to break out of habits from time to time when visiting Disneyland and try something different. On our most recent trip, we decided to start our day in Tomorrowland. We spent time exploring neglected nooks, which is always an adventure. When we made our way out of Tomorrowland, we were fortunate enough in our timing to capture this moment. It was a day filled with satisfying surprises.
