Daily Photo Tour - Headed for Tomorrow

While shooting at Disneyland, I always try to find unusual angles to take pictures. They're usually the ones where you wind up crouching over or, in my case, halfway in some sort of bush or fence. For some reason they end up being the ones I find most interesting, which is very convenient because there is little I love more than wrestling bushes. Unfortunately, this has resulted in creating some sort of a name for myself with Matthew and Kevin who usually find me hovering over bushes creepin' on something. I can't seem to do it without some comment being made, which I don't understand. There is absolutely nothing wrong with someone hiding in a bush with a camera.

Daily Photo Tour - The Fleet

The night time views in Disneyland never cease to amaze me. This lagoon and the placement of the Matterhorn is just one of those unique scenes in the park. While the three of us where meandering one night, we worked our way up the monorail platform and found this spectacular view. It's no question that transportation has been a long constant theme here in Tomorrowland. The fleet of submarines is hard to miss amongst the amazing backdrop of the Matterhorn, lagoon, and passing monorail.

Daily Photo Tour - Finding Copycats in the Lagoon

A few days ago, Matthew, Michaela, and I were watching the Finding Nemo Submarines as they peacefully navigated the lagoon. Everything seemed normal until Matt spotted something very interesting. In addition to the Seagulls screaming, "Mine, Mine, Mine" there were a few ducks sitting on the buoy trying to mimic this very same thing. We couldn't make out any legitimate noises, but they sure had the same mechanics down with their beaks. It was truly an interesting sight to see. I am still convinced that Disneyland Ducks are a species of their own.

Daily Photo Tour - Today's Tomorrowland

Whenever we think of Tomorrowland, the first things that come to mind are always Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear and, of course, Star Tours. But there is certainly a lot more to this land where every growing thing is eatable... edible... nibbleable. The Monorail Queue provides a unique view of the Nemo subs through what feels like a prehistoric forest. If you fancy some popcorn, you can have it roasted for you by the Rocketeer. The recently remodeled Star Trader store dazzles with scenes from out of this world and a prominent location for a Star Wars fighter. Yes, that's right friends, there are lots of neat things to find in today's Tomorrowland!

Daily Photo Tour - The Submarine Voyage

The Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage certainly adds a beautiful punch of color at the border of Tomorrowland and Fantasyland. The bright yellow submarines always make me think of sunshine as they pop against the many shades of blue and cyan in the lagoon. The Tomorrowland Monorail platform is a great place to see it from above for some unique perspectives.

Daily Photo Tour - The Staring Contest

Have you ever found yourself in a staring contest with an inanimate figure, somehow making yourself believe you can win? I love these seagulls. They totally crack me up, echoing "Mine, mine, mine!" For some reason, the silly side of me feels the need to argue with them, "No, it's mine!" I'm not sure exactly what "it" is but I'm pretty sure these guys will take just about anything they can get. And of course I don't win the staring contest or the argument because they're not about to stop and I'm at Disneyland. There are rides to be ridden and pictures to be taken and memories to be made. If I spent all day entertaining people by staring and arguing with these seagulls, Disney would have to make me a cast member and put me on the payroll.

Daily Photo Tour - Knot a Hidden Mickey

I bet that title really roped you in. If not I don't blame you. This is a hidden Mickey picture after all, not a Jungle Cruise joke. Don't you love finding new hidden Mickey's hiding around the park? I had never seen this one and was so excited I decided to share it with all of you!

Daily Photo Tour - Tomorrowland Transports

It's nice to break out of habits from time to time when visiting Disneyland and try something different. On our most recent trip, we decided to start our day in Tomorrowland. We spent time exploring neglected nooks, which is always an adventure. When we made our way out of Tomorrowland, we were fortunate enough in our timing to capture this moment. It was a day filled with satisfying surprises.

Daily Photo Tour - Moving Forward

When Tomorrowland was first created it was a place to see what the future was going to be like. Walt wanted it to be a place of new and unexplored things. Funny enough, during its first years, there were more exhibits than rides. This has obviously changed over the years, as many rides and attractions have been added. My favorite time to visit Tomorrowland is of course at night! Its great to see all the different colors and lights that make the land very special. This shot was taken opposite the Matterhorn, looking over the Tomorrowland Lagoon. I wanted to really capture the color and ambiance of the area. I was very lucky during my third exposure (the longest) when the subs, and the monorail both entered the frame at the same time. I was very excited as this doesn't happen all too often!
