This is my happy place. I would love to have a workspace that looked just like this! Of course I'd replace the typewriter with a 27-inch iMac, but everything else would remain the same. This was taken in the queue of Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye just before you enter the projector room. It's a spot that sometimes get's passed up because of re-direction of the line. You should however with the permission of cast member jump out and take a look. It's one of the most amazing parts of the queue, and includes several unique props!

I love the Temple of the Forbidden Eye and it always bums me out to have go through it so quickly. The queue is every bit as good as the ride itself. When you make it to this point, the bat cave area, that's when things really get interesting. The path gets crooked. The walls and ceiling close in on you a bit so that there's a level of discomfort. That discomfort is always offset for me by hearing Jim Carey as Ace Ventura shouting "Guano!" Just me? Dangit...

Daily Photo Tour - Hidden Beneath the Foliage

Tucked away so concealed within the jungles of Adventureland rests The Temple of the Forbidden Eye. I love Adventureland because it is cozy, and oh so very green. The midway opens and narrows at various points, allowing foot traffic to funnel, and then breathe. That's just the character of Adventureland, and I like it. The walls of lush foliage give a sense of mystery beyond the point of civilization. It makes you wonder, what is out there? Without even knowing it, you're already wanting adventure. Well, that's just perfect now isn't it, considering you are in Adventureland.

If it's excitement you're looking for, you'll find it hidden beneath the foliage in a secluded temple that remains the source of peril and terror for many explorers. There is one experienced and seriously strong archaeologist however, that can get your through it. No, seriously. Think about it. Continuously holding back those gigantic stone doors, hanging from a rope 24/7. Dr. Jones has his work cut out for him. I'm just saying, lay off the roids Indy.

Daily Photo Tour - The Lost Temple

I love exiting Indiana Jones from that dark, rocky tunnel into the dense foliage that rises high overhead. There's something really neat about the way light moves in this adventurous jungle. It peeks through the leaves and branches where it can, dancing around their movements and flickering like a set of heavenly twinkle lights arranged in no particular fashion. And that's just what happens overhead. The idea of discovering and exploring ancient lost ruins is thrilling. Even though I've been on the ride a hundred times, its facade still lends mystery to the imagination and I constantly find myself dreaming up myriad scenarios of my own archaeological adventures. Oh what wonders await you, my friend!

Once a movie prop, this vintage Mercedes Benz is one of the first things you'll spy through the dense foliage shrouding the Temple of the Forbidden Eye. Sometimes I wish I could just climb in and sit in the driver's seat for a while.

With three to choose from, four if you count the "Gates of Doom" and enjoy that sort of thing, who could decide?

Already I am excited for what wonders await you at the Temple of the Forbidden Eye. That is, of course, if you avoid looking into the eyes of Mara, which never really seems to work out too well. Foolish mortals we may be but the real treasure of this temple is the adventure. From the journey through the queue to the jeep ride that at times gets a little...bumpy, the epic Indiana Jones score is your soundtrack. All you need now is a stylish hat and a sturdy whip. But why did it have to be snakes?

As soon as I enter The Temple of the Forbidden Eye I cannot help myself from thinking about a certain 80's movie involving a small Asian boy with quick wit, and an awesome accent. No, I am not talking about Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. I am talking about The Goonies, my favorite movie of all time. Yeah, I know what your thinking. But, it is. I grew up watching the Goonies, and every time we go creeping down into the depths of this temple it seems to always come back to me. You know, I've always wanted to go on an adventure for buried treasure. I just don't think I could do it without Data.

Daily Photo Tour - Inside Indiana Jones

The brakes may be needing a little adjustment? Not this time Sallah. I've never been completely stopped on a Disneyland attraction, until recently. And of course it would be the ride that seems to always be closed, Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye. Everything was happening as it always does. Our jeep crossed the bridge, circled around the skull room, and dropped down beneath the giant bridge. But then something interesting happened. Suddenly those brakes really did work, and we came to a screeching halt. The music stopped, and the lights came on. I felt like a little boy in a candy shop. I quickly grabbed my camera and twisted my body around as far as I could and fired off about a million shots. In about five minutes a maintenance worker came around and told us it would be a few minutes. I told him to take his time. I was soaking up a moment. New goal, get stuck on Pirates of the Caribbean. Yes. I can dream can't I?

The Indiana Jones Ride queue is one of my favorites. The detail is amazing and I can't help but feel the urge to skip through the exit after our wild ride through the Temple of the Forbidden Eye. It is also one of my favorite queues to shoot. The colors and textures are amazing, but also the light peering through the cracks and holes in the ceiling give it the perfect ambiance. I can't express enough how much I appreciate all the detail the Imagineers put into everything at Disneyland. Each thing has its place and purpose, to transport you to a different time and a different world, to a place you would never know or experience otherwise.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye is one of those rides where I don't mind waiting hours in line. The queue is such a story in itself, that leads up to the ride. Even in the boiling heat it's still great to be able to take the time to chat with friends in line, and take in the amazing atmosphere!

It's Spring, and I can't help but look at the color green. I love it. It's really hard for me to get out of Adventureland once I step inside, especially if I have my camera. I took this shot on an overcast day, the time when green really pops. This is below the water tower that is located in the exit for Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye.

I'm sure Indiana Jones became quite hungry at some point during his expeditions (some of you already know where I'm going with this) and what else would he snack on besides some lovely Fig Newtons? Oh yes. What else would he eat to squash his craving of chewy fruit, and cookie goodness? I mean, the guy's got it hard in there. All day and all night holding back large tomb doors, and saving tourists from gigantic rolling balls. He's definitely working up an appetite and probably very thankful his friends packed some Figs along the way. I wish my friends would pack me some fig newtons. (Hint Hint...)

Daily Photo Tour - You Have Chosen Wisely

Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye is an amazing ride and one of my favorites. The queue is almost as fun as the ride with the immersive theming and interactive elements all along the way. I love the mural of Mara on the ceiling of this room and had attempted to capture it a couple of times, to no avail. Determined, I tried a third time. With a lull in the line, I was able to take a few needed moments to finally acquire this shot.

If Disneyland could put more theming into their rides and attractions, they would be real. This picture was taken near the end of the exit of Indiana Jones, across from the famous jeep. Something I had never noticed before. It's actually a great little section of theming that draws you into the Jungle Cruise. This is gonna sound weird, but I love foliage. Anything green draws my attention immediately. Although, that is mostly due to living in the desert for 17 years. I can't go to Disneyland without seeing something new that I have never seen. Every trip is unique in it's own way. This used to boggle my mind. How can I go to the same place once a week, and have it not get old? Detail. There is something new around every corner no matter how many times you've been to Disneyland. You just have to be open to finding it!

Daily Photo Tour - The Temple

Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye by far is one of the best themed attractions ever. Yes, I said it, ever. I mean c'mon, the queue line is practically a ride in itself! And in those first early months it was a good thing because wait times could range anywhere from 2-4 hours! Thank you Disney for queue line special effects! Can you imagine those first few people who had no idea about the collapsing pole? Oh to be the first. But still, after 15 years "Indy" is still going strong. I have never had a ride that was the same as a previous one. So I guess Disney is holding up there end of the bargain. It is a great experience to be able to enter all three different chambers on a single day. Purple, in my opinion is the most intense. Nevertheless, I am still excited every time I get into one of those overclocked out of control cross between a Chevy suburban and a Jeep Grand Cherokee enhanced motion vehicles.
